Unhappy Stuck at grub command prompt! :(

Hi! Thanks for looking at this thread! I appreciate your click! Ok, I should start by saying that this problem is completely my doing! I was deleting some space off my C Drive and I believe I may of accidentally deleted Fedora, or some of it! I have a dual boot with Fedora and Windows XP so when I started my desktop up it would load into fedora by default or I could press a key to load XP! (It rhymes!) Now, however, it instantly loads up into "Grub" So I just get:

Grub>

And that's it! Run, Or Exit, or anything really, doesn't work! Except Reboot! So I'm a little stuck. It's an old PC and the Windows XP disc is long gone, if I ever had one! I had this thought that perhaps if I reinstall Fedora from a CD it many bring back the old command prompt and let me get back into XP again? Or, is that crazy talk?? Any help you can give would be super appreciated!!

Ben x

Try reinstalling Fedora's grub bootloader using the installation DVD (or CD 1). Boot the disk and look for Rescue Mode as one of the menu options. Using rescue mode is well documented here so you should be able to find a few threads related to it fairly easily.

Re: Stuck at grub command prompt! :(

How did you fix the problem? Reinstall grub? Were you able to boot Windows again?
