so is there a power regression in the kernel or not?

phoronix.com is constantly talking about a big power usage regression in the latest kernels but when I go to the kernel devel mailing list I just don't see much talk about it. So is there a problem or not?

I did find one post in a kernel devel list about a power problem

I suspect this isn't a kernel regression but rather a problem in a particular distribution used by phoronix
