fc15 install dahdi doesn't install dahdi module

Hello, I'm trying to install dahdi on FC15.

yum list 'dahdi*'
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Installed Packages
dahdi-tools.i686 2.4.1-1.fc15 @fedora
dahdi-tools-devel.i686 2.4.1-1.fc15 @fedora
dahdi-tools-libs.i686 2.4.1-1.fc15 @fedora
I have dahdi installed. And a wildcard card:

pci:0000:04:07.0 wcfxo- 1057:5608 Wildcard X100P
modprobe dahdi returns:
"FATAL: Module dahdi not found."

and dahdi_genconf finds no spans.
I have commented out the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/dahdi.blacklist.conf:
"#blacklist wcfxo", which I believe corresponds to the appropriate module.

However modprobe wcfxo indiates that module is not found.

I have an up to date fc15 installation.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Adrian Stephens, Cambridge, UK..

Re: fc15 install dahdi doesn't install dahdi module

I think you need to compile the dahdi kernel modules, make sure you have the necessary packages installed to compile a module:

yum install kernel-devel svn gcc gcc-c++ make automake cmake
Then you can get the sourcecode using svn:

svn co http://svn.digium.com/svn/dahdi/linux/trunk dahdi-kernel

cd dahdi-kernel
su -c "make install"

Re: fc15 install dahdi doesn't install dahdi module

Many thanks. I'll give that a go and say how it worked.

I was assuming that given that the rest of the dahdi system was supplied by rpms, some kind of automagically made dahdi module would be included.

Re: fc15 install dahdi doesn't install dahdi module

Thankyou again, JEO. I did the build as you specified and got the dahdi-kernel stuff to install. This is separate from the dahdi-tools rpm that is available for fc15 - i.e. you need both the dahdi-tools and dahti-kernel components installed.

Next step - to debug my dahdi configuration files and work out why asterisk doesn't see any dahdi channels.
