Open With... custom command

I remember setting up .jar files to open with command java -jar in FC14. I tried that in FC15 but there is no option for that now. The dialog that shows after right click -> "Open With Other Application..." seems seriously dumbed down, double-clicking .jar opens archive manager.

So anyone knows how do I fix that?

Re: Open With... custom command

See if there is java listed in: Right click -> Preferences -> Open With -> Show Other Applications

Uh... nope, no java.

Also just java isn't enough, jar files need to be openned with java -jar [filename]

I added a shell script to start the jar for me, but I'm really wondering why is the option for custom command removed.

Re: Open With... custom command

You can either use Nautilus Actions Configuration tool to create a special menu item, either create in ~/.local/share/applications/ a .desktop file, both with custom command line for opening files with jar mimetype.

But "Open with" menu only shows now apps providing .desktop file with accurate mimetype.
