Disable boot things [FC2]

Hi there.
When I boot Fedora Core 2 it sometimes freezes when it does "Checking for new hardware" in graphical boot.
Is it possible to turn this off so it wont search for new hardware?
Maybe it's something else that stops it from booting, but it's always at that stage.

do not allow kudzu to work:

from a console type:
setup

then go to system services and disble kudzu.

I suspect you will loose also the ability to autodetect cdrom, usb keys and other useful auto-detect iussues.

Hmmz .
That's a problem because i have a USB mouse and keyboard.
So, if it doesn't detect those i can't work :-P.

Does no one knows how it comes that Fedora Core 2 freezes when booting? When I look in the text mode it stops when activating swap partition. I have a swap partition of 500 mb, maybe thats a problem?

It's strange cause I dont get this error always, when I first boot windows, reboot windows and then boot fedora it works :S, only when i turn on my computer and choose fedora as first it'll freeze..
