Odd KDE menu backgrounds

I just installed KDE to try it as an alternative to GNOME 3. In general, it works, but there are some odd menu backgrounds. Here's an example of what I see when I try to use the panel menu.

Ok, looks like the link is not working now... What I see is a pop-up box that is mostly black, with some vertical and horizontal lines in a rough grid. If I move the mouse pointer over the box, text may appear and I can click to get submenus.

Re: Odd KDE menu backgrounds

I had this when using the nouveau driver. It wasn't only menus that did it though. After installing the nvidia drivers the problems was solved.

So I'm guessing it is a graphics driver issue. What card do you have?

The video card is "Intel HD Graphics 3000". smoltSendProfile reports it as "(32902:294:6058:8654) pci, i915, VIDEO, N/A"
