Fedora 14 -> Fedora 15 : Fedora 15 gpg key import failed.

Hi,
I was a bit curious to use new Fedora 15 so I tried to follow instructions from http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/YumUpg...-.3E_Fedora_15 to upgrade my current F14. When trying to import gpg key with

rpm --import https://fedoraproject.org/static/97A1071F.txt

I get the following error message: error: https://fedoraproject.org/static/069C8460.txt: import failed.
Could you please advise?
Sorry I am quite a freshman in Linux.

Thank you.

Bumping this up because I'm having the same issue.

Anyone?

I do not know the answer to the question, but as you can see on the link you gave :

Quote:
The recommended installation method is with a boot media with the Anaconda installer as detailed in the Installation Guide or use PreUpgrade

PreUpgrade is a slightly different upgrade method where all the packages are downloaded before the system is rebooted into the Anaconda installer.
And right under that is a warning

Although upgrades with yum do work, they are not explicitly tested as part of the release process by the Fedora QA and are not documented in the Fedora installation guide. If you are not prepared to resolve issues on your own if things break, you should probably use the recommended installation methods instead.
So my advice is that you use preupgrade.

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PreUpgrade

I have used preupgrade since I think about Fedora 10 or 11 and it works much better then trying to upgrade with yum.

Well, that wasn't the link I gave... I just bumped it

That said, preupgrade is thinking the latest version of Fedora is 14, not 15.

Code:
]# yum install preupgrade
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, presto, refresh-packagekit
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * fedora: mirrors.rit.edu
 * updates: mirrors.rit.edu
Setting up Install Process
Package preupgrade-1.1.9-1.fc14.noarch already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
And since this code is useless, I'm stuck.

Code:
]# rpm --import https://fedoraproject.org/static/069C8460.txt
error: https://fedoraproject.org/static/069C8460.txt: import failed.
What next?

See : http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PreUpgrade

The next step, after installing preupgrade, is running preupgrade.

There was an interesting exchange on the devel list concerning upgrades:

Re: Fedora 14 -> Fedora 15 : Fedora 15 gpg key import failed.

I'll note that rpm less than helpfully will print this error when the key is _already_ imported. (at least with the f14 rpm, f15 fixes this).

So, most likely it already worked, and was just erroring in telling you that it was already imported.
