Taking Forever to Shut Down or Reboot

I'm actually not certain how long it's taking because after 5-10 minutes I give up and go away or turn the machine off and back on. If I hit ESC to see the shutdown messages, all I see is a blinking cursor.
Booting up is no problem at all.

Any thoughts on how I can troubleshoot this?

are you by change runnng qemu on your machine? It hangs upon shutdown.

You can also find out where it is hanging by adding a few parameters to your kernel line.

systemd.log_level=debug systemd.log_target=kmsg

Then you will have a better log of where it is hanging.

how about mysql? see this link http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=262342 Since this is with systemd, I don't know is the symptoms extend beyond mysql.
