[SOLVED] [Errno 12] Timeout on / 14: problem making ssl connection

heres the first one
[root@Server1 ~]# yum clean all
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Cleaning repos: fedora updates
Cleaning up Everything
0 delta-package files removed, by presto
[root@Server1 ~]# yum info kernel
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
fedora/metalink | 21 kB 00:00
[Errno 12] Timeout on http://mirror.pnl.gov/fedora/linux/r...ta/repomd.xml: (28, '')
Trying other mirror.

then the second one

[root@Server1 ~]# yum install mysql
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Could not get metalink https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/me...a-14&arch=i386 error was
14: problem making ssl connection

i dont know what to do to fix this please help

error was 14: problem making ssl connection

i would like to start by saying i didn't want SSL anything

[root@Server1 ~]# yum install mysql
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Could not get metalink https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/me...a-14&arch=i386 error was
14: problem making ssl connection

i dont know what to do to fix this please help

For what it's worth, nano should already be installed, but that's not the problem. From where are you working with this Fedora system? Are you home, at work or at school? Could it be a proxy issue? What possible solutions have you already tried?

I have the same problem few hours ago, but not now, may be the repos were busy. Try to install it later.

its in a home based system working off a Vdsl2 connection on a static ip if that helps
things i have tried are changing my changing my mirrors, basehttp, adding ftp repos and removing https
i can also ping out receive incoming ping my dig gets an answer
nothing seems to work

su -c 'rpm --rebuilddb'
yum repolist
Please report back.

You can also try turning off IPV6, at least temporarily. Execute
Code:
su -c 'echo NETWORKING_IPV6=no >> /etc/sysconfig/network'
Try yum again.
