Ya know ... I really don't mind helping to test, make boog repoorts, waste a half a pack of CDs and DVDs with each release -- and generally assist working the kinks out of new fedora releases ... but I've just about had my freaking-fill of getting my preferences almost installed by means of sneaky file edits, blatantly renaming things, shoving files hither and yon, over-using chmod and chown, trickery, hookery, crookery, and much "massaging" with brute force and a ball-peen hammer ... only to have one flippin' injudicious "bug fix" update blow the whole bloody mess right back to the butt-ugly original idea the techno-devs over at Gnome 3 seemed to feel were precious enough to inflict unchangeably on all the rest of us. <....>
Jeeze!
... And the worst part of it is ... I distinctly remember thinking that I should back-up my changes before I ticked that edit-deadly update icon. <....>
Ah, well. Self-inflicted rant concluded. Back to the terminal to start all over. <....>
EDIT: Aw, CR*P! Now we're back to not being able to shut this mess down -- again.

Yeah. It figures. So much for [ctrl]+[alt]+[del]. Totally ineffective now. And power-button defib will only suspend.

... Where the *ll did I put my MINT-10 CD? <....>
