Searched and found a number of blank screen posts, due to graphical driver.. but I think this is different. I've tried to install Fedora 14 over Fedora 12 and first, using the Live CD, after upgrading and rebooting, my Grub menu was blank.
So I tried a Live-CD fresh install - same thing. Then I tried a DVD install - same thing. Baffling.
When I reboot to rescue mode and chroot /mnt/sysimage; cd /boot/grub; more menu.lst - it shows a correct entry for initrd and kernel. Selecting the grub options 'b', 'e', 'a' or 'd', the menu just returns, still blank.
I've fought with Fedora installations since F8... but this has been the worst of them.
Should I give it up and find another distro? If so, suggestions?
Is this an easy problem to solve?
Is my search terms just not working for me?
Thanks,
John
