Change background in GDM?

Does anybody know how to change that butt ugly background in GDM?

Sorry, but those vertical stripes have to go since they give me a headache.

I have managed to get rid of them in Gnome, but I haven't figured out where the setting is to change it in GDM yet.

Hmmm.

Dunno. Let's go see what we can find.

Re: Change background in GDM?

Just a guess, but ... try -- /usr/share/backgrounds/lovelock/default-stripes/wide/lovelock.png

There are three possible directories there. The wide screen version is the default here, I think.

Ayup. That's it. I couldn't find a setting, but a brute force file change and rename did the trick. Stripes all gone bye-bye. <....>

Re: Change background in GDM?

I resorted to the very same approach!

I couldn't find where to change the setting for GDM, so I just copied the background I wanted over what it was set to use.

no more headache from those wild stripes. LOL

where is the "solved by brute force" button in here?
