Yum update question for Fedora 14 i686

Yum update wants to install some KDE related stuff today on a desktop that is running 32 Bit Fedora 14 Gnome. I do not have KDE installed on this box. Do I have some software that depends on KDE packages? How do I tell?

Code:
[glenn@phenom14 ~]$ yum check-update

Re: Yum update question for Fedora 14 i686

Glenn, i could be wrong but considering how Gnome3 an KDE share almost the same stuff i wouldnt mind betting its the same for F14. , though you could probably do a yum remove kdebase-runtime and see what deps it wants to take with it

Good call Detox!

Code:
[glenn@phenom14 ~]$ sudo yum remove kdebase-runtime
Loaded plugins ................
---> Package amarok-libs.i686 0:2.4.0-1.fc14 set to be erased
Apparently at one time I had installed Amarok. I don't use it so I'm removing it and all kde related libraries. Now yum check-update results in the following.

Code:
attica.i686 0.2.0-1.fc14 updates

gdm-plugin-fingerprint.i686 1:2.32.1-2.fc14 updates

Re: Yum update question for Fedora 14 i686

these ones here
oxygen-icon-theme.noarch
phonon.i686
phonon-backend-gstreamer.i686

just do the same as you did or would doing a whatprovides on those packages be of some use before you remove them?

Re: Yum update question for Fedora 14 i686

I purposely installed almost all of the icon themes available. There are no issues with them. Update was successful after I got rid of Amarok and the KDE stuff.
