I just purchased 3 identical USB wireless devices that claimed to work under Linux, but I can't seem to get any of them to work on several different F14 boxes. One might be defective, but I doubt 3 can be bad.
lsusb says:
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 148f:3070 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2870/RT3070 Wireless Adapter
I searched for ralink 2870 and found several references to things that worked on pre f14 operating systems. I couldn't get any of the suggestions to work.
I tried compiling the driver from ralinks web site and it get compile errors late during the make operation.
yum install kmod-rt2870 akmod-rt2870 didn't seem to do the trick.
What's really confusing me is when I run System/Administration/Network and attempt to add a device, I see a ralink reference under wireless but configuring it only allows for eth0-ethX options. I was expecting wlanX or raX options.
Is there a known fool proof way of getting this gadget operational?
