Clamav update won t work

Hello i was using mandriva before and fedora is new i have installed clamav antivirus but clamav won update i must change clamd.d and maybe freshlam.conf but how do i that under mandriva clamav-freshclam does the job but here it is different please give me an solution.

You should only have to edit 'freshclam.conf'.
As first search for a line containing 'Example' and comment out.
Secondly, search for following section:

# Uncomment the following line and replace XY with your country
# code. See http://www.iana.org/cctld/cctld-whois.htm for the full list.
#DatabaseMirror db.XY.clamav.net

uncomment the last of these lines and change 'XY' into your location.

the fedora rpm will not need editing
the clam source WILL
editing that line IS very well documented in the install instructions on the clam web site AND in the readme

In my case (I'm using only the fedora-rpm's) it was always necessary to do the above changes.

It's been awhile but If I remember correctly, you also have to put a " # "in front of the word "example" somewhere in the first ten lines or so of freshclam.conf .

Hello thanks for the help but the updating will not start at all see the lines here below are they correct:

I am living in the netherlands so i have set it according to the iana.org list as nl please advise me how to configure it correctly.

Problem has been resolved an corrupted installation was occuring many poroblems thanks for all the input.

Glad to hear, however one word to your previous post, the line should look as follows:

DatabaseMirror db.NL.clamav.net

You have to remove the leading '#' otherwise the whole line will be ignored.
