Changes to Gnome 3 theme in F15?
Firefox looks really strange in the F15 alpha Gnome 3 theme. There's a big disconnect at the point the title bar starts. Here's a screenshot: http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/2249/screenshotk.png
- Are changes going to be made to the current Gnome 3 theme? (The title bar and menu bars are a tad too thick imho)
- Does the move the Gnome 3 and all the backend gtk cleanup make it easier for applications (read: firefox) to implement a no title-bar gui?

That's the plan, as I understand it. The Firefox Icon you see in the upper left corner will eventually contain a drop down menu with the usual, File, Edit, View, etc. Not just for Firefox, but for all applications. This is part of gnome's plan to take up less space on screens, (and for world domination of netbooks).

Re: Changes to Gnome 3 theme in F15?
that's not how Firefox looks for me at all. It just looks like any other GTK app: the menu bar is actually a menu bar, and it's the same color as the window title bar, so the whole thing looks like one big grey area.
If you customize Firefox's appearance I guess it's natural that you can't guarantee the result will look 'consistent'

Agreed.
In fact, in gnome 2 given the blue title bar, there would always be a disconnect. But my point is that with the increase in thickness of the title bar and making it grey, the disconnect becomes more pronounced if firefox theme is changed.
Was just wondering if further theme changes are yet to happen.

Where is the menu bar option under preferences? On my version of Firefox, you toggle menu bar via the View Toolbars option. Even then it does not look like the Windows version as no Firefox start button appears on the titlebar.

I can check or uncheck the menu toolbar under view, Firefox 4. What's a start button in Firefox?

Looks like they are considering starting development for it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bu...id=585370#c337 ( DO NOT post there, just read)
