Re: Earthquake
Somehow I doubt that we'll see the same acceptance of responsibility as in this incident.

Re: Earthquake
TOKYO, (June 18) - A rise in radiation halted the clean-up of radioactive water at Japan's Fukushimi nuclear power station on Saturday hours after it got under way, a fresh setback to efforts to restore control over the quake-stricken plant.
The power plant has been leaking radiation into the atmosphere ever since the March 11 quake and tsunami and both China and South Korea have expressed concern over the possibility of further leaks into the sea.

Thanks, there's also a story about a second exodus of foreigners that I am not able to read.... Too hungover to work it out...

Re: Earthquake
Hmmmm. That isn't what was up there this morning. There was almost two pages of content. Specifically describing the nature of the isotopes and the timing of the surges. Including some speculation of what might be causing them. Of particular interest to me was the sudden increase in hot Iodine and caesium.
Kinda wonder if that was accompanied by the odd stray neutron event.

Re: Earthquake
Ya' know, I'm about as sensitive to corporate and governmental B.S., failures, shortcomings and abject stoopidity as the next guy. Maybe more so, in fact. For many years, I was the poor clod who had to wade through the rules, regs, Teir II sheets, unholy stacks of MSDS fiction publications, pre-plan the must-be-all-encompassing "Ohmigawd! What if...?" responses -- and generally cope with the crud most folks don't even want to think about, much less see ... right up until the damn disaster-dragon roars to life. And even then, all they want to know ... is who to blame.
And, there's an eye-opening whopping load of truth laid bare in the article linked below.
However, I have to tell you that my first impression after reading it ... was all about the ever-pervasive over-all stench of flippin' FUD!

Re: Earthquake
Yup.
Tritium decays into He3, and electron (which can get taken up by the helium), and a neutrino.
The electron can't even damage skin. or get through paper.
