Unhappy [SOLVED] Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer breaks suspend

I have sometimes use my PC for games, thus i need EAX support from this. Linux X-Fi drivers works well, exept it's prevent my system to go S3 standby. If i do blacklist snd_ctxfi suspend works after reboot. Can some one confirm this or it specific to my hardware config?
Fedora 14 x8664

Re: Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer breaks suspend

Seems fine here, sorry (Fedora 14 x86_64; motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L; sound card: X-Fi Xtreme Gamer).

Is it worth checking the kernel is up to date?

marriedto51, do you have some advanced pm settings, like scripts in your /etc/pm/
also, do you use pulseaudio?

/etc/pm/*.d are all empty and I've not done any manual configuration of anything to do with power management.

Yes, I'm using pulseaudio (pulseaudio-0.9.21-7.fc14.x86_64 and various other packages related to pulseaudio).

Sorry not to be any help

I do really appreciate your replies anyway, thanks. I fink about workaround with pm-utils - shutdown PA and remove xfi module manually works. Still, should i bugreport this?

Re: Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer breaks suspend

Reading the man page for pm-action, you should be able to do a work-around with a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d, or perhaps by setting the config variable SUSPEND_MODULES. Hope you can get something that works for you.

Presumably, a bug report wouldn't hurt, although if it is something very specific to your hardware setup it will probably get little attention, I guess.

Re: Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer breaks suspend

Sorry to bring out such a old thread, but as i finally solved the problem by replacing Extreme Gamer with Titanium (uses same snd_ctxfi driver), i think it may be helpful to others.
In the end its looks like my Extreme Gamer board was somehow faulty in hardware.
