error message Kernal panic

Hi,
New to Fedora and Linuix. Trying to install Fedora i686 from a CD.

The machine has a ml370 hp compaq with dual 733 Mhz processor with 256 cache memory.

I booted the CD with dmseg | tail or so and the following came up:

Kernal panic-not syncing: Attemping to kill init!

That's all I get. I don't if there is another page of errors or what. Do I have to press a certain key to get more messages or is that it? Thanks for your help.

From the skimpy information, the system failed handling a page fault.

It may be hardware related, but whether a disk, cpu, or memory, I can't tell.

Have you tried memtest? It should be one of the boot options on the CD.

I tried a memtest yesterday with no errors. I'm going to try a /var/log/boot.log later to see what might come up. Thanks again for your reply.
