Re: source fork bomb
unless you were calling for forkbomb up there, I can't see anything in your message that would allow anyone to figure out what your problem is to help you any farther.
You want someone to help you.. but help you with what? what problem are you having? price of tea too high? you car run out of gas? global warming? Are you stuck in the middle of a lake in a canoe without a paddle?
C'mon.. give us something to go on here

Re: source fork bomb
I'm guessing the OP wants to know how to write a fork bomb. Until the OP specifies a language, the best anybody can do is guess or provide examples.

Re: source fork bomb
way to go leigh.. you just brought down a hundred systems.
most systems that are run by anyone halfway understanding what's going on would have the /etc/security/limits.conf changed to prevent this from working, though.

It didn't work that well with a default F14 install either.

So, what does this "fork bomb" do, anyway?

Re: source fork bomb
Run that on Wine 1.3.9! Yes, 1.3.9, this version cannot handle such loops.

Re: source fork bomb
Totally unaltered Fedora 14 install from LiveCD in a virtual machine and the forkbomb did nothing whatsoever... just prints:
bash: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable
forever in the terminal. This does not slowdown the system or create an drain on cpu and as a result had no impact on the host either.
I wonder of Fedora 14 is made to somehow limit the number processes.
