I recently made a clean install of fedora 14, 64-bit
There are some icons missing from the Firefox theme I've used for years. I contacted the theme author and after a lot of testing the conclusion is that there's something wrong with my gtk theme.
During testing I downloaded a clean firefox from mozilla.org and extracted it in my home folder, even made a completely new profile folder by renaming the old one, to exclude the possibility the problems are caused by a corrupt profile.
When I start the standalone firefox I get these warnings:
Earlier I also used to get:Code:(firefox-bin:26999): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "clearlooks", (firefox-bin:26999): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "clearlooks", Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module": libpk-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
but it went away when I installed 32-bit versions of it.Code:Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I also noticed earlier that animated gifs weren't animated at all, I guess only the first frame was shown, so it looked like a blinking image. It seemed to be fixed now though.
I also have a problem with cairo dock, I'm only able to drag and drop stuff on it once after I log in, and also I was able to reproduce it once after dock restart, but not since then. After I successfully drag and drop an app into the dock once, and try to drop another one, the dock appears but the icons don't react to the mouse movement, if I drop the icon it falls through to the application below the dock if there's any. For example if firefox is open below (behind) the dock the icon is opened in a new firefox tab. http://www.glx-dock.org/bg_topic.php?t=5023
Also in Inkscape I have this bug: Cursor position markers are not cleared from rulers https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/627134 which seems to be gtk related
By default I use compiz with an emerald theme, but I also tested this with Metacity (Fedora default theme) and GTK window decorator, it behaves the same.
I'm not sure if all this is connected, but I thought it can't hurt to include more info.
Are there any dependencies I'm missing for gtk? Why do those warnings appear?
