Re: Fedora 14 - No Shutdown Messages
1) Open a terminal window.
2) su - to swap to root
3) Enter - plymouth-set-default-theme
you should see?
[root@Fedora13 ~]# plymouth-set-default-theme
charge
[root@Fedora13 ~]
4) Enter plymouth-set-default-theme details
5) Enter plymouth-set-default-theme
you should see?
[root@Fedora13 ~]# plymouth-set-default-theme
details
[root@Fedora13 ~]
6) You will need to reboot.
Note I did this on my system and yes you see the messages but only when the kernel kills the GUI or Xorg session. The messages appeared for maybe 5 seconds before the machine powered off. So not sure how useful that is gonna be.
I also experimented using Shift + Ctrl and (F6 or F7 key) as these seem to be the terminals allocated on shutdown. Again saw the messages but for a very short time.
