How do I get wifi to work after reboot?

Hello:

Sorry about yet another broadcom driver question...

I ran yum broadcom-wl and installed the driver for my card no problem. I connected to the internet just fine using my wifi thereafter.

When I shut my laptop down and booted sometime later, the wireless connection was gone and I didn't even see a wireless adapter in the networking applet.

I tried to run insmod wl and insmod wl.ko and that failed.

So... after using yum to install the broadcom drivers, how can I make that install 'permanent'; so I don't lose my wireless adapter each time I reboot?

Thanks!!!

Maybe your kernel was updated and the kmod-wl stuff wasn't (it happens). Take a moment to list the running kernel and the relevant installed packages...
Code:
uname -r
rpm -qa | grep -e kernel -e kmod-wl -e broadcom-wl | sort
All of those version numbers should make sense together. If not, then try installing akmod-wl and reboot.

Thanks for the reply!

Code:
[root@localhost ~]# uname -r
2.6.35.10-72.fc14.x86_64
Code:
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep -e kernel -e kmod-wl -e broadcom-wl | sort
abrt-addon-kerneloops-1.1.14-1.fc14.x86_64
broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36-1.fc13.noarch
kernel-2.6.35.10-72.fc14.x86_64
kernel-2.6.35.6-45.fc14.x86_64
kernel-headers-2.6.35.10-72.fc14.x86_64
kmod-wl-2.6.35.6-45.fc14.x86_64-5.60.48.36-2.fc14.1.x86_64
Yeah, it looks like kmod didn't get updated.... 6-45 vice 10-72. I'll try to install that other package you mentioned.

Thanks!
