Re: Tata photon

yes, the sudo command will ask for a password, it is the same as your user password. But the user has to be in the /etc/sudoers file before you can use sudo. root adds users to the /etc/sudoers file.

Now your other problem. What is a Tata Photon and what problems are you having with it?

Is it a USB modem? Is it a USB version of the enterprise to shoot photon torpedoes across the office?

If it is a modem, they usually don't show up on the desktop when plugged in. You can see if it's recognized when plugged in by looking in /var/log/dmesg or /var/log/messages. You can display the dmesg file with the dmesg command from a console or terminal

Re: Tata photon

yes Tata photon is modem, so how to add the user in sudoers file , and the user with which i am logged in is root user so i guess the root must be in /etc/sudoers file.
plese give the necessary commands to do so
