F14 USB install problem - unknown keyword in syslinux.cfg

I made a F14 USB installer with liveusb-creator. When booting from it I get "unknown keyword in syslinux.cfg", and then it hangs, with no more messages. There is no information about which keyword is unknown! Searching the forums, I see that problems like this have been around since 2005, but none of the solutions given seem relevant to F14. How do I debug this?

Did you upgrade the version of Syslinux that's used to build the USB?

Thanks - I could not use the linux method, because I only have F10 and it would not let me install the F14 syslinux rpm. But the windows method worked - at least, I can now boot and get as far as the automatic login screen.
