cannot login to kde as user after upgrade from fc13 to fc14

Hi all
I am unable to login to kde after upgrade to fc14 from fc13 as user , the splash screen works for seconds and returns back to login screen, but I am able to do as root
I also managed to login to KDE (failsafe session)
and also I am able to login as normal user to gnome desktop
any suggestions

When you are logged in to Gnome rename the ~/.kde/share/config/ folder. If it doesn't work rename the ~/.kde folder.

That is what I suggest. As you can log in as root or as failsafe it suggests that the problem is with your user setup, probably a corrupted file in config. Renaming give you a clean set up and should allow you to log in. You will lose any customisation you have done to the desktop.

I suggest renaming rather than deleting however you are probably safe to delete the config directory. However the .kde directory can contain your data so that should be renamed if the config step doesn't work. You can then copy back important stuff like .kde/share/apps/.

Sorry for not making that clear in my first answer.

No probs , I got your point after a deep re-read
It works now after I have renamed the config. folder
after a while I will transfer the contents of the all config folder one by one to the new one created and see what application was causing that issue
Thanks buddy
