pptp client sents over vpn, but doesn't receive

Tonight I installed the pptp client from http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net. I've got it all configured and to the point that I can authenticate to our corp MS VPN server. The issue that I have is that I can't seem to get data to flow over this pipe. If I ping a node on the far lan, I can see packets being sent, but nothing appears to be coming back. (yes, the node is alive, you'll just have to trust me on this one). I'm wondering if I have something wrong with routing either in the client or system-config-network.

As a last ditch effort I fired up ethereal, when I do a ping I see ppp traffic from the remote gateway back and forth to myself, which appears to be normal.

I'm tired. Please let me know if I'm being to vague or if you need more info. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Definitely seems to be a problem with routing. I had an associate tell me that there are known issues with pptpclient and FC2, but can't find information to verify.

There's a bunch of FC2 related messages on the pptpclient-devel mailing list archives..

Unfortunately, it's all Greek to me : ) But it does look like a good place to start.

Much appreciated, that will help out a ton. I see that someone already has an MPPE enabled 2.6.5 kernel .rpm ... Nice. =)

I'll be testing this tonight and will post back with results

I don't know what options are set in this kernel, I'd have to take a look through the .config

If you take a look through http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/f...p?forum_id=773 you shold be able find more info. If I have time later I will compare to the original config.

No problem. Now I know at least what you did. It saves a lot of work the way you did it... Succes.
