Fedora 14 Meld not working

Hello

After upgrading my system to Fedora 14 i have this problem when i start Meld:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/meld", line 91, in <module>
missing_reqs("pygtk", pygtkver, e)
File "/usr/bin/meld", line 77, in missing_reqs
print _("Cannot import: ") + mod + "\n" + e
TypeError: cannot concatenate 'str' and 'exceptions.ImportError' objects

The problem seeems to be related to some missing python module. I can add that, just after upgrade, i haven't be able to use Gnome-commander (also a python problem); however, after reinstalling it i managed to get over that problem.

Now, back to Meld poblem, can anyone helpl, please?

I upgraded my install to F14 and meld is working as expected.

The output looks ok, try reinstalling meld

Already did it, no success. Is there a way to reinstall python and all its modules without removing exsiting programs that use ithem?

Similar problem here. Upgraded Fedora 13 to 14, now meld gives the following error:

I tried "yum reinstall meld" and "yum reinstall python pygtk2" to no avail. Does any one have a suggestion?

Also, yumex hangs just after "Finished Dependency Resolution". Seems like the python installation went bad. What changed between Fedora 13 and 14?

Edit (2011-05-25) - I have an outstanding bug on bugzilla.redhat.com for this issue now.

I fixed my problem, though this probably won't help any one else.

I did a "which python" and it returned "/usr/local/vapor-2.0.0/bin/python" Seems that when I installed Vapor (a program for visualizing 3D density fields), it came with its own python, which was put in the PATH before the system python (/usr/bin/python). I removed the line in my .bashrc which sets things up for Vapor, logged out and back in, and everything works. Meld runs, Pitivi runs. I am happy.

Thanks, it did help me. My python's path was hijacked by OpenOffice.
