ERROR while installing OpenOffice

Hello everyone,
I just downloaded OpenOffice 3.2.1 from the openoffice.org weebsite. I followed the instructions precisely and everytime ended up in the same error message - 'error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (Permission denied)'. I am using Fedora 13. Please help.

I find the best way is to use the Fedora repositories (via add/remove software)

I didn't go read the instructions but based on the error message you probably need to run the commands as root.
