Gnome Bug? - Opening any Directory from gnome menu opens vlc media player

Hey,

I was playing an mp3 music playlist in vlc media player, then I tried to open a directory from the gnome menu and all of a sudden it opens vlc media player and it start searching for things to play from that directory. This happened to me a week ago with a program called "Audacious" I resolved this problem by removing Audacious, but now it happened again with VLC Media Player and I don't want to remove it. Does anyone know what might be causing this behavior?

Note:
Before this bug happened I remember right-clicking on a folder that contains MP3 Music files, and selecting "Open with Other Application", I checked VLC Media Player, there was also a Checkbox that said: "Remember this application for folder files was checked".

Never mind: Right-clicking on the folder again and selecting the "Open Folder" application from the Applications list fixed the problem.

This sounds like a really old bug. It was at least a couple years ago. I don't remember the details, but it surfaced after the release of an Ubuntu upgrade. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Hey, thanks for the reply. The problem was that when I opened a Folder that has MP3 files with VLC I associated the "Folder" type the VLC program and that caused all the Folders to open with VLC. I did the same thing again but this time I selected the "Open Folder" application from the applications list and that fixed the problem.
