Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series no sound issue

Hi guys,
I have a problem with the latest Fedora. Installed it cleanly on a machine with Gigabyte H55M-S2 with Intel Core i3. There seems to be no sound and I checked to see if anything is muted but is not. Here is a dump of some things on my system

Can you post the output of dmesg command on some pastebin site and give us the link ?

Just a question: Was it working before you've installed Fedora 14 ?

No, it did not work. I installed Fedora 14 fresh on a new, clean box and no sound at all.

I have the same problem with my new Gigabyte H55M-D2H with Intel Core i3. I tried many other distributions with the same result and didn't find any solution as now.

Here is a guide how to install OSSv4 which can be used as alternative to pulseaudio and ALSA. Here is the link to the newest OSS version: http://www.4front-tech.com/download.cgi

kernel-devel has to be installed before you install OSSv4. Maybe your sound card isn't supported by OSSv4, I don't know, but maybe it works.

Which version did you use, V4 or the newer one as i tried V4 and it trashed my machine

I didn't have any problem with OSSv4 but the price. I remplaced it with the last version of Alsa which works great.
