FC13 on Gateway 450SX4 - Will not shutdown, only restarts

I've been searching for a while on this problem and haven't found much. Whenever I try to shutdown my pc, it reboots. It doesn't matter if it using the Gnome shutdown button or 'shutdown -h now'. During shutdown, the screen will display "Shutting down..." then "Shutting down...re-executing /sbin/init" The status messages will even display "Halting system", then poof, it fires right back up. I've tried editing the BIOS to turn off/on PM, no luck. Adding acpi=off to grub.conf doesn't help either.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. There is also a problem with it not resuming from suspend or hibernate, but one issue at a time.

Can you provide more information about your hardware?

Did you look into the log files, in particular /var/log/messages? It may give a hint on what happens during the shutdown.

No, the log files don't seem to show much. One thing I discovered this morning though is that it appears to be kernel-related. I have the problem when I run 2.6.34.7-61.fc13.i686.PAE. Things work fine with 2.6.33.3-85.fc13.i686.PAE. My hardware is an older Gateway 450SX4 running BIOS 35.02.01. It is an Intel P4 2GHz with 512MB RAM.

A couple of people here seem to have problems with that kernel. Not sure how to proceed if there is nothing in the logs. You could file a bug report and see what the developers are saying.
