ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 - F14 random freezes

HP Compaq 6820s:
During the installation of F14 I noticed that the system freezes for a while every few seconds. The installed and rebooted laptop behaves the same way.
Disturbing repeated messages in var/log/messages:
Code:
Nov 3 18:20:22 localhost kernel: [ 512.589815] [drm:radeon_dvi_detect] *ERROR* DVI-I-1: probed a monitor but no|invalid EDID

Nov 3 18:20:39 localhost kernel: [ 529.556261] radeon 0000:01:00.0: DVI-I-1: EDID block 0 invalid.
Similar messages are appearing on all runlevels.
"nomodeset" as grub parameter does not help.
When reinstalled with basic video driver the system is stable and the messages are not present.
Removing "nomodeset" in the basic driver system brings back the EDID messages but not the freezings.

Re: ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 - F14 random freezes

Forgot to add: Clean install, no proprietary drivers.
Seems like kernel issue. Lots of Ubuntu guys out there are suffering from the same since update.
The trick is the video adapter has no DVI connector (or functionality I guess) while EDID for DVI is being searched and found to be wrong.

update:
Installed the rawhide kernel but it did not help.
rawhide xorg-x11-drv-ati made things even worse.

Re: ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 - F14 random freezes

Mesa drivers did not change the erroneous behavior.
Here is some of the anaconda.syslog contents:

Re: ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 - F14 random freezes

kernel-2.6.36.1-10.fc15.i686 with mesa-libGL-7.10-0.12.fc15.i686, mesa-libGLU-7.10-0.12.fc15.i686 and mesa-dri-drivers-7.10-0.12.fc15.i686 didn't change the situation at all. This is disturbing since it seems that the problem will persist in F15 as well.
From what I can see by google-ing "radeon_dvi_detect", this bug plagues opensuse, archlinux and ubuntu as well and it is not limited to the particular radeon I have.
