automatic reconnect on wireless drop

I have this issue that the wireless gets disconnected every now and then,

first I do not know what causes this as the wireless taskbar icon always shows at the very least 2 signal bars out of 4. Its a decent campus network and I suspect that others have any problem with the signal strength.

the irritating problem is that i have to manually do a number of clicks every-time the wireless is dropped to reconnect. Moreover, Sometime it takes 4 or 5 fail attempts to eventually reconnect, and that means repetitive right clicks and left clicks and waiting and delays.

I guess there should be some easier way to configure automatic repetitive attempts to reconnect. any idea?

Also even when the reconnection fails the icon indicates a fair signal strength on the network. Any idea why the reconnection fails then?

thanks
