F13 still loading however laptop screen goes offline

Just installed F13 on Gateway NV79 laptop with Intel media accelerator graphic card r12, everything went fine. My problem is whenever I start-up the laptop it boots through grub and then after a blinking cursor at the upper left corner of the screen my laptop screen goes offline however the computer is still going through the boot process.

I found that if I pull the cover down as if I was closing the laptop and then back upright the screen comes online.

I'm wondering what may cause this issue and if I should be using nvidia drivers or nouveau? Is this due to hardware driver issues causing it to suddenly go offline? I don't mind having to do this every-time I start up but it does get annoying.

Did you already try this suggestion from the Common Bugs section of F13?
