Re: Fedora kde

Fedora's implementation of KDE has improved a lot over the last few years. Many of us use it as the main environment. But remember you don't have to limit your self to one de you can have as many as you want (and can afford disk space for). When you start Fedora you can select the desktop you will use for that session.

There is a KDE live cd. Download it and try it. That is the best way to see if it will suit you.

Re: Fedora kde

I'm currently using Fedora 13 KDE 32bit and like how it performs so far. Some things have been a bit troublesome at first like Installing skype. Should have been easier, but maybe they will change that in the future. Fedora, compared to other distros like Ubuntu, feels more safe and stable in a way. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I do and feel free to share any tip or advice to improve the desktop experience with KDE on Fedora 13

Re: Fedora kde

Ignore the above reply. I noticed KDE isn't working as smooth like Gnome does on my Dell XPS m1330 laptop. Kmix could not find any of my microphones, not the internal or external. Trying to ad my bluetooth headset didn't work as well and after spending time trying to find a solution to the above problems I just thought why do this when gnome simply works? Also feel it is difficult to find around in KDE menu. why is system settings under both application menu and computer menu? It's a bit confusing and also it takes up to much of my memory. Only have 2 gb memory, but feel it is slower than gnome.

I like the look of KDE better than Gnome tho, but the Gnome environment can be changed.

With that said I say bye bye to KDE and hope it will be easier to use in the future
