Re: Firewire port and Fedora 12

What happens after you plug your camera? does it appear as a standard USB drive, or something? try connecting it, and after about 10 seconds, type "dmesg" (no queotes) in a terminal. Look for the last messages, to see if your camera is detected.

Regards.

Re: Firewire port and Fedora 12

I have seen a lot of people posting issues with Firewire. I don't have a problem at all with Fedora recognizing my 6-circuit alpha connector.

Is it the 4-circuit connector you are having issues with?

Re: Firewire port and Fedora 12

Ok! I just connect the camera and does nothing. Run the command "dmesg" and this is what came on the screen:

Quote:
firewire_ohci: isochronous cycle inconsistent
firewire_core: phy config: card 0, new root=ffc1, gap_count=5
firewire_core: created device fw1: GUID 0800460106feffff, S100
My camera is a SONY DCR-HC48, and I use the 4 pin firewire cable. Thanks!
