Cannot disable touchpad when typing (Lenovo U350)

In Fedora 13 KDE4 the Smart Mode in System Settings - Touchpad is greyed out (see screenshot). I thus cannot disable the touchpad when typing which is very unfortunate because my left palm occasionaly touches the touchpad while I'm typing.

Any idea what's missing?

Re: Cannot disable touchpad when typing (Lenovo U350)

I don't use KDE but in Gnome there is gpointing-device-settings. Installing this has allowed me to totally disable my touchpad. Maybe there's something similar for KDE?

Re: Cannot disable touchpad when typing (Lenovo U350)

There's no problem disabling the touchpad completely as you can see on the screenshot. I would merely like to disable it while I'm typing.
