F11 and Intel 5100 AGN wireless problem

I've searched the forums and have found that a fair amount of people having problems with their Intel 5100 AGN wireless card and F11 or F12. Non which seem to be the same problem I'm having, They are all having problems with it not working all together or random disconnects etc etc.. My problem is my card is detected and works on unsecure connections but will not connect to my router which is secured with encryption password.

any help would be greatly appreciated..

btw I am fairly new to the *nix world so may need more clarification on how to properly diagnose and solve the problem.

Thanks.

this is my output for lspci

Re: F11 and Intel 5100 AGN wireless problem

Hallo

It dosn't looks like a hardware or driver problem. May only your WiFi-setup is wrong.

Use the NetworkManager to setup a encrypted conection. NetworkManager should all ready be installed on your system.

See: http://www.redhat.com/magazine/003ja...etworkmanager/ The Manual is old. There was not much support of encrypted in the NetworkManager. But todays you can select all usualy encrypted modes. Make sure you select the same on your router and on Linux.
