how do you add xfce to the session manager?

how do you add xfce4 to the session manager, I installed the rpms from newrpms...and it wont go..startxfce4 doesnt seem to work...I really don't feel like doing this from source (At least the damned thing WILL absolutely compile and will work as soon as you figure out how to get into the session manager. However it takes forever....)

Have you tried the Desktop Switching Tool? It should be under Main Menu > Preferences unless you talking about something else. I xfce4 the same version that is on the fedora cds?

I have found that it is quite a pain to add window/desktop managers to the login managers under Fedora Core 2. Here is a post that might be of use. Here is a how-to I wrote on how to add fluxbox to KDM. Good luck.

For GDM, you must place an executable script in the /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions folder.

For Eg: "cat /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/FluxBox" on my system returns

#!/bin/sh
exec /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession fluxbox
