FC13 Only one Joystick Axis working

Hi there,

Since I'm going to be spending a few days in the hospital (going to get my gallbladder removed on monday), I decided to throw some games on my netbook to kill time there.
Now I've run into a really odd problem.

I've tried multiple gamepads, jstest always recognizes them and all the axes and buttons respond perfectly fine.

If I open any game or emulator (basically anything X-based), though, only axis0 shows any response. It's like the others aren't even there.
I believe ZSNES's button declarations prove this, as the X axis is recognized as J00 and J01 and the first button is J02.

The pads work fine on my big comp (that one's still running FC11 though) and stuff like joy2key also recognizes everything, but joy2key doesn't seem to work with ZSNES, for example.

Any ideas how to fix this?
