[Contains Images]First time with Linux and Fedora..

So I thought I'd give Linux a go, not because Im a MS basher, but I'm always open for trying new things I took screenshots of the process where I get stuck to, and an error message I guess could be causing the problem. I am using the dvd-rom iso to install, hoping to install side-by-side with XP SP2.This is using Fedora 2

Steps I went through follow..

1st:

2nd:

3rd:

not normal? ^^^^

4th:

5th:

6th:

7th:

8th:

And I get stuck here.. not sure why? I dont know which drivers to select, i've even tried loading all of them and I get sent back to that menu

Please assist

Many thanks

LLA

A verbal summary of the problem:

1) You have a system with SATA drives and are installing from a DVD disk of Fedora Core 2.
2) The install program boots from the DVD but you can't get it to recognize your DVD reader. When you get to the "Installation Method", picking "Local CDROM" won't work. It just offers you a menu where you may select drivers or driver disks.

The question is whether there is a driver selection or driver disk that would solve this problem. (I don't know.)

In one thread, popdog reported that he fixed the problem by going into his BIOS and setting the SATA mode to "enhanced".

Hi LLA,

I can't really help you as I just started using Fedora 2 a week ago and have had a series of problems myself. I use SATA drivers for my HD but really had no problem loading it up with the DVD ISO I burned. Basically, I'm a little inhead of you, but not by far.

I will say that this is a wierd problem since it obviously recognized the drive to get that far.
