Touchpad doesn't work anymore.

I've been using fedora for about 2 years, and i recently bought a new laptop. After using a usb mouse my toughpad no longer works? Now it works on login but after login touchpad input is gone. Can any one help?

If you look into /var/log/Xorg.0.log, you should be able to see messages related to your touchpad. Go through the file and see if you can find error messages related to the touchpad.
Is that happening only when you are using a usb mouse or even if no external mouse is connected? What version of Fedora are you running?

Re: Touchpad doesn't work anymore.

Well i saw no error messages related to the touchpad, though i found something that seemed interesting. I don't know if it has any significance.
[ 1522.501] (--) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: touchpad found
[ 1540.770] (II) config/udev: Adding input device Dynex Wired Optical Mouse (/dev/input/mouse1)
[ 1540.770] (II) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)
Now i'm running Fedora 13, and it only started happening after i plugged in my usb mouse. When i Restart without the usb mouse plugged in, my touchpad works fine until i login then it loses input.

Ok, Xorg at least recognizes your touchpad and there doesn't seem to be an error. I don't know your machine, but sometimes there is a setting in the BIOS to disable the internal touchpad when an external mouse is connected.

just means that Xorg didn't find an xorg.conf with configuration instructions (which is the default for Fedora since Xorg has considerable auto-config capabilities).

Re: Touchpad doesn't work anymore.

So i looked in my Bios but i could find anything releated to my touchpad. When i bought the computer it had windows 7 and it didn't have a problem when the usb mouse was connected. So i don't think it's a Bios setting because i haven't change anything other then boot options.
