My garbled display

This morning I've booted my Fedora 13 laptop, loaded Firefox and what do I see? I see what's in screen shot #1. I've used Firefox on my desktop today. No issues. I booted Ubuntu on the same laptop and loaded Firefox. No issues. I'm using Opera right now, on the laptop. No issues. I have another install of Fedora 13 on this laptop. Same issues. The only difference I can see right now is that the laptop uses Intel graphics while the desktop uses NVidia graphics. I don't think it's a graphics issue though because Ubuntu on the laptop uses the same graphics card, of course. I've downgraded xorg-x11-drv-intel as I believe there was a recent update to it, no change, so I updated it again. Firefox versions are exactly the same on the laptop and desktop while running Fedora. Didn't check the Ubuntu version. There were some Nautilus updates lately too and there are Nautilus errors in .xsession.errors, so, I though that maybe I'd try downgrading nautilus-extensions (not sure if that makes sense or not) but it would have taken out half of the building so I passed on that one.

At times, but not every time, when Firefox gets all garbled I can't close it, can't minimize it and I can't switch to other applications or shut the computer down. Nothing works, and it feels as if the computer is locked up hard even though I can move the mouse. I can switch to a VT though and do whatever I wish. I used a reboot command to reboot the computer since I can't do anything else. Reboot changes nothing. Just remembered. I even downgraded Firefox and xulrunner. Didn't help.

To me, it's something with this computer while running Fedora 13 and it has to do with recent updates. This was not an issue even as recently as last night.

This looks like the last normal update.

Hmmm. nspluginwrapper? Wonder if that's the culprit?

Anyhow, anyone care to speculate on what they may see here, either with the last 2 updates on my description of what's going on with Firefox?

Well. Problem seems to be gone, apparently as soon as Google changed back to the usual logo. Seems the animated 4th of July logo was giving my computer fits. It's all good now.

I had the same issue with my new Intel video display computers with the Google 4th of July doodle. It became so bad that the entire X window desktop would freeze. I have ctrl-alt-bksp enabled, and while that would cause X to restart, it would not restart the desktop allowing login. I had to reboot the machine.

Yup. Reboot was the only option. Switched to Opera for the day.

libpng maybe but it looks more like a problem on google's side, I think.
That image looks corrupted and was likely corrupted on google's servers before you downloaded it at a guess.

The problem wasn't the image (png), I grabbed a copy of it and it displayed fine. The problem lie in the HTML5 animation of it somehow. What I don't understand is how that locked up the entire X display. After a few minutes, the display froze with only mouse cursor movement showing.

Would be interesting if their is a cached version of that page, to link it here because I have an Intel card and would be interested in seeing if it happens here.
I won't have noticed it because I use Opera or Chromium and google.co.uk to search.
