Connecting USB drive results in "Unable to mount X" "Not Authorized"

Fedora Core 13 updated just this morning and still having a problem when connecting drives to the system. I believe drives are supposed to be automatically mounted under /media/Vol-Name where Vol-Name is the label on the drive/partition. I, and everyone else logged in, get the following message:

Is there some settings that controls this? I don't even know which program is responsible for this stuff.

Thanks.

I don't know how that's done, but it works for me. It isn't in fstab, which is where I would have expected it.

Inserting DVD's, such as the installation DVD, generate the same error.
