Totem Player Plug-in Downloads

Hi,
Whenever I try to play any kind of video in Totem, it says that the needed plug-in has to be installed first and then it displays a message asking if I want to search for these plug-ins.
Then after searching I get some plug-ins and then when I go to download them, it says that Totem is offline while I am online all the time !!! Why does this happen?
Am using Fedora 10 by the way.
Thanks in advance

Hello
you'll most probably need gstreamer plugins bad and ugly, which are not available from the fedora repos and as much as totem wants to download and install them for you it doesn't, rpmfusion's the way to go

Thanks a lot man ... I'll try it out and let u know ... I guess yum will also be working for these plug-ins?

And 1 thing I don't understand is why the hell does Linux distros not include these codecs in a bundle for such apps?! After all they are trying to make it a lot more user friendly !!!

Re: Totem Player Plug-in Downloads

Enable the rpmfusion repositories using one of the Fedora Set-Up Guides (bright yellow link at the top of the page). Then yum can be used to install the codecs.

As to the Why of all this: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Software_Patents
