Evolution and Exchange in Fedora 13

Since installing Fedora 13, it appears that Evolution is not able to use the Windows GAL to lookup contacts any more. This worked fine with the version in Fedora 12. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem?

I've added a comment to a bug report which looked related in Bugzilla.

Re: Evolution and Exchange in Fedora 13

I just set up Evolution to connect to our MS Exchange server but it seems like a calendar is not working as it should - whenever I get an invitation my calendar is not updated PLUS the Decline/Accept buttons are INACTIVE so I can't confirm the attendance etc...
Has anyone experienced this ? Or am I missing out some config ?
Thanks a lot

From reading the bugzilla report, it looks that the calendar isn't working either.

Add yourself to the CC list on bug report & you'll get an email whenever it changes.

Re: Evolution and Exchange in Fedora 13

I tried rebuilding evolution-data-server rpm from source and, strangely enough, I didn't get the undefined symbol error any longer. Unfortunately, it seems now exchange authentication is gone down the drain... don't know if it's related.
Well, I guess we'll have to wait

P.S. For reference: symbol ldap_ntlm_bind lives in ntlm.o which lives in /usr/lib/evolution-openldap/lib/libldap.a (part of openldap, NOT of evolution) which evolution-exchange seems to be linked to but not evolution-data-server...

Hi, just in case you were interested. Calendar is also crashing all the time around. I just submitted a new bugzilla report for it:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=602137

cheers

Re: Evolution and Exchange in Fedora 13

Maybe fixed in testing (I can't try it because evolution-exchange stopped working altogether for me):
Code:
yum --enablerepo updates-testing update evolution-exchange evolution-data-server

Re: Evolution and Exchange in Fedora 13

Me Too!!!

evo exchange plugin (the owa one) worked ok for me on F11 -- all three pieces (gal/contacts, email. calendaring) worked well enough (for a long time too, well over a year).

I literally vaulted to F13 (clean install), on 6/21 -- after some pain points I got evo exchange working OK for email and calendaring seemed there -- but no gal/contacts.

I switched my account to evo Exchange-mapi and now I actually have good mail and gal/contacts -- no calendar.

grumble...

any thing I can try?

Re: Evolution and Exchange in Fedora 13

UPDATE.

Message Filters were not working with Evo MAPI.

So I cleared/deleted out my Exchange account from accounts list and recreated it -- this time with Evo - exchange.

Same as before (everything but no GAL -- filters were untested)

So I tried:

evo data server 2.30.1-3
evo exchange 2.30.1-4

Now GAL, Calendar and email seems to work OK. Filters seem to be working too. WhooHoo!

---------- Post added at 02:50 PM CDT ---------- Previous post was at 01:59 PM CDT ----------

All is not quite there.

In order for filters to actually work -- I have to CTL-A my inbox and then CTL-Y.

I'd like filters to automatically fire upon receipt -- like it used to in F11.

...any ideas on this??

I had 2 small issues that are resolved:

1) I didn't have 'Apply Filters' turned on for this account -- Doh!

2) Some how, I had a bunch of messages marked as Junk -- so filter matching wasn't even being applied to those.

All seems OK now...
