Exclamation FC13 Firefox hangs system on Downloads

Just upgraded from FC11 to 13 a few days ago and came across a wierd problem with firefox. When downloading files thru firefox, Firefox starts consuming more and more memory/cpu cycles until the system hangs. This only happens when downloading thru firefox. Doesnt take too long either. Otherwise everything else works fine.

firefox-3.6.3-4.fc13.x86_64
Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I am using F13 Gnome 64 bit and didn't notice this problem. What desktop environment are you using? Does that happen with every download, i.e. is that problem reproducible?

Similarly works for me with the same set-up. I did a clean install rather than an upgrade so maybe something went wrong there. Maybe worth removing Firefox & re-installing it?

Ok, Got serious with this problem last night late. I download recordings tru my mythweb thats why it bugs me so.

I ran firfox in save mode (firefox --safe-mode) and had no problem at all downloading. Infact, I was only using something like 15 cpu / 8 mem according to top. So, I went in and uninstalled a bunch of extensions in firefox and it has seemed to fix the problem. Now when I download a large file Im seeing 35 cpu / 8 mem in top for the firefox process.

I dont know which extension was causing the problem though.

Thanks for the reply's
