Re: skype & fedora 13
When I click to download Skype from their site, I open it with the installer instead of saving the file and it installs fine. If you are having problems trying all of these options, you might want to backtrack a bit and see if you can find out what's preventing the installation. For example, you state "wget command not found", well, if you copy and pasted the first line from Dangermouse's forum:
yum -y install wget libX11.{i586,i686} libv4l.{i586,i686} alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.{i586,i686} qt-x11.{i586,i686} libXScrnSaver.{i586,i686}
wget would have been one of the first things that was installed. Maybe your trying to do your installation from outside the directory where the files have been downloaded. Maybe for some reason your PATHS are off. I don't know, it's your box, and you need to, maybe, go line by line from the forum instructions and post the results here. It's probably something simple that you may be overlooking.
And I'm sorry, I haven't got the error using Autoten, I've never seen a prompt to check the about button, it may be something new he added with the F13 version, and, I haven't had an error come up in Autoten in a while. I mainly use it to install the codecs.
Edit: And after all that, could you have SELinux enabled? Just an idea, if you do, try disabling it.
