    F13: package nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.4-19.fc12.x86_64

    Hello,

I have configured the Adobe repos and when I try to install Adobe Reader, yum gives me the following error:

    Code:
    Transaction Check Error:
package nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.4-19.fc12.x86_64 (which is newer than nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.4-17.fc13.i686) is already installed
I tried --skipbroken as a longshot to no avail. Obviously if I try to remove nss-softokn-freebl it tries to remove all of Fedora , looked in Koji but there is nothing in there either.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Question Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

    Hi,

I need to install some 32-bit libs on my fresh install of Fedora 13, and am running into an error. yum is reporting that it needs nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.4-17.fc13.i686. It downloads it then says that the x86_64 version it has is newer. Actually, it has the i686 version installed too, but it is version 3.12.4-19:

    nss-softokn-freebl.x86_64 3.12.4-19.fc13 @updates

Here's the whole command and the output I am seeing:

Re: Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

    http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/b...buildID=173002

You need the 19 version of the 686. You can get it from the koji link above and use
    "rpm -Ivh nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.4-17.fc13.i686.rpm --test"
If no errors the repeat without --test.

    May be an outdated mirror.

Re: Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

    Thanks for your reply.

That didn't seem to do the trick. It seems to have a circular dependency issue... glibc needs nss-softokn, and nss-softokn needs glibc.

Re: Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

Well, you need to install all the RPM's for 686 as you have for X64 to make it work.

    rpm -qa nss\*

So I need to download those all from koji and install them by hand?

Re: Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

I don't know. I was just indicating where the 686 package version was.

A 32 progrm on a x64 system is one thing but
nss seems to be a system task and the x64 system is going to call x64, and then use x64 glibc
I don't see the path to get from x64 to 685 to x64 pieces.

RPM telling you the nss 686 needs the glibc 686.

You'll need to explain what you are running and doing so someone else that used x64/32 mix may answer.

Re: Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

    Hello !

I am just joining, as i have the same problem at the moment.

I tried to install skye on f13 and skype is 32 not 64bit, so it seems to need the glibc.i686 but i get the same errormessage as i try to install it.

    So the question must be:

    a) how can we install the glibc.i686 without uninstalling the 64bit once
    or
    b) is there a 64bit skype ?

I googled around for now about 1 hour found a lot of websides but nothing helped.

    skype says:

    Code:

Conflict of interests there with 64 and 32 bit libraries?

Re: Problem installing glibc.i686 on Fedora 13 x86_64

I have the same problem. Now I cannot install nVidia drivers because running "yum install akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686" also pulls in nss-softokn-freebl.i686 package as a dependency, which is outdated. I hope this is just a temporary issue with mirrors and i686 version of this package will be updated soon.

Hi Leigh. The solutions you offer. Are they because the OP is running 64Bit Fedora?

Yes, I don't think my solution will work as it's a repo problem
